Research

Researchers in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) are experts in fields that shape national security, satellite communications, high-speed wireless networks, health care, and the environment.

ECE faculty collaborate with graduate and undergraduate students, giving our graduates the experience needed to thrive in academia, industry, and government research labs. They also partner with visiting scholars from around the world, supported by funding from local industry and national organizations. Their work spans scales from microscopic nanotechnologies to large-scale ocean systems.

Our Research Areas

“My main area of research is a synthesis of signal processing and ocean acoustics, which is funded by the Office of Naval Research. I’m currently applying new results from mathematics to analyze and improve algorithms for processing data from larger and larger arrays of sensors.”
