We encourage our students to join organizations related to their fields of study. Don't know where to start? These organizations are popular with ECE students:
Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE)
Mason's chapter of IEEE wants to push the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering to the forefront of technological innovation through applied research. Members can explore new technology while making their ideas a reality.
Association of Computing Machinery Chapter (ACM)
Mason's chapter of the Association for Computing Machinery is a part of an international network of nearly 100,000 members. Members learn about competitive programming and participate in programming competitions.
Armed Forces Communications Electronics Association (AFCEA)
Mason's student organization, affiliated with the northern Virginia chapter of AFCEA, works to promote industry-government cooperation in developing effective intelligence and information management, including the development, manufacturing, and operation of equipment and systems, as well as provision of services in signals, communications, electronics, computers, intelligence systems, command and control, and imagery.
George Mason Rocketry Club
The club wants to spread excitement and knowledge about rockets to the Mason community and to increase the university’s presence in collegiate rocketry competitions. Members design, build, and test rockets of all sizes and complexity.
