Industry and government professionals who want to update their knowledge, advance in their careers, or develop a new specialty can select from three graduate certificates.
Each certificate requires 12 to 15 credit hours of coursework, including mandatory and elective classes. Graduate certificates are available in:
-
Machine Learning for Embedded Systems: Provides a broad understanding of machine learning algorithms, with a special focus on their implementations in embedded systems, security and privacy, trade-offs between accuracy and efficiency, use in distributed and federated learning, and suitability for various cutting-edge applications. See the brochure.
-
Smart Grid Technology: Focuses on essential technologies for modernizing power grids and supporting the transition to clean, efficient, and secure energy systems. See the brochure.
-
Small Satellite Engineering: Provides a broad understanding of small satellite missions and operations and of technologies for spacecraft design and engineering including satellite bus, hardware and software systems, and communications. Projects transition theory into engineering practice in satellite and ground station engineering. See the brochure.
-
Advanced Networking Protocols for Telecommunications: Provides an in-depth understanding of advanced protocols used in a variety of telecommunications networks.
- Systems Engineering Graduate Certificate: Includes the following two concentrations administered by the ECE Department:
* Concentration in Communications and Networking (CONE)
* Concentration in Tactical Computer Operations (TCO)
